I’m a fourth year political science student here at UBC. I started doing yoga when I got into university and it helped me tremendously with school stress, my mental and physical health. That’s why I wish to inspire other people to get on the mat, and experience the gift of asana (physical practice), meditation and pranayama (breath practice) for our overall health. Yoga gives us time to rest and slow down in a constantly busy life. You become aware of your thoughts and how restricted you might sometimes feel within your own body. With regular yoga practice, it can gradually create a balanced life that will release any blockages to make you feel more like yourself.
